A Midtown martial arts academy teaching Brazilian and Gracie Jiu Jitsu to both adults and kids, with an emphasis on self-defense, leverage and footwork rather than fight competition. It is a certified Gracie Jiu Jitsu training center.
A Midtown fencing club with Mini Musketeers classes for ages 4-6 and beginner youth classes for ages 7-12, plus intermediate to elite training, open bouting and camps. Beginner equipment is provided.
A tennis club tucked on the 4th floor of Grand Central Terminal offering junior classes with small groups and carefully chosen coaches on indoor courts. Families can also rent courts by the hour.
One of the oldest fencing clubs in the country, this nonprofit Midtown club trains young fencers from beginners to national-level competitors. Kids learn footwork, bladework and bouting from experienced coaches.
A Midtown dojo teaching Goshin jiu-jitsu and Pekiti Tirsia Kali that also holds youth classes. Kids learn traditional self-defense techniques on a separate kids schedule.
A free-admission outdoor rink that anchors Bryant Park's Winter Village, with skate rentals, group learn-to-skate classes on weekends and Tuesday afternoons, and private lessons seven days a week. Families who bring their own skates pay nothing.
