3,052 places and programs for kids from birth to 17: public library branches, NYC Parks playgrounds and pools, museums, zoos, nature centers, and classes in art, music, dance, sports, STEM, languages and theater.

Where the listings come from

Each listing cites the public page it was compiled from, shown as “Source” on the listing: the organization's own website, NYC Parks, the three public library systems, or NYC Open Data. 125 listings carried over from the original directory were re-checked by hand; the rest were researched from those sources in September 2026. Details that couldn't be found are left blank rather than guessed. Descriptions are written by LittleGotham.

Map positions: 2,413 listings are placed from their street address using NYC's GeoSearch service. The rest are placed at the center of their ZIP code and marked “Approximate location”.

Photos

277 listings show a photo from Wikimedia Commons, used under its Creative Commons or public-domain license and credited under the photo. On listing pages, photos and ratings from Google are loaded live from Google Maps with their authors credited; LittleGotham doesn't store them.

Reviews

LittleGotham doesn't copy reviews from other sites. Google ratings and recent reviews appear on listing pages straight from Google, with each reviewer credited. Each listing also links to its pages on Yelp, Facebook and, where relevant, Tripadvisor and Trustpilot, so you can read those reviews where they were written.

Hours and prices change

Programs change by season. Before you go, confirm with the provider using the phone number or website on each listing.

Open data

The full directory is available as JSON at /data/activities.json for researchers, journalists and AI assistants. Please link back when you use it.
