Beyond its rec center and pool, this East Harlem park has three baseball fields, a synthetic-turf soccer field, basketball, volleyball and handball courts, a running area and a skatepark opened in 2017. It's a busy hub for neighborhood youth sports.
A neighborhood branch of the Champions taekwondo network, with separate classes for preschoolers (Little Tigers), school-age kids and teens. Children practice kicks, forms and self-defense while working on focus and discipline, and the branch also runs after-school pickup, summer camp and a competition team.
A Harlem youth enrichment program that combines squash coaching with tutoring, mentoring, community service and college preparation. Young people ages 11 and up train on the courts and get long-term academic support.
Families can rent a rowboat at the Loeb Boathouse and take turns rowing across the Lake, passing Bow Bridge and Bethesda Terrace. It is a fun first taste of rowing for kids with a parent aboard.
