The Bernikow JCC has both indoor and outdoor pools used for kids' swim lessons, recreational swimming and competitive programs. It is the Staten Island JCC's only branch with pools.

A dedicated kids' swim school with a warm indoor pool, teaching babies from 4 months up through age 12. Levels run from Mini parent-and-baby classes to Junior, Glider and Pro, plus the Swim Force pre-team program.
The Broadway YMCA in West Brighton runs YMCA swim lessons in its indoor pool, from parent-and-child water play for babies and toddlers to preschool classes for ages 3–5 and stroke-building levels for school-age kids and teens. Families can also use scheduled family swim times.
British Swim School holds lessons at this Westerleigh pool, starting with babies as young as 3 months. Kids move from water acclimation to survival skills like floating and rolling over, then on to stroke development; adaptive classes are offered too.
