Yes. Music for Autism is indoors, so it works on rainy or cold days.
An open-air Music Together class held near Madison Square Park where babies, toddlers and preschoolers sing, dance and shake instruments alongside their grown-ups. Families take home a song collection to keep the music going between classes.
Guitar instruction for kids including Suzuki guitar for the youngest players, private lessons, and kids and teens rock bands where students rehearse and perform together.
The Union Square Guitar Center has lesson studios where kids and teens take one-on-one lessons in guitar, bass, drums, piano, voice or DJ skills. Instructors tailor each lesson to the student's goals and level.
Founded in 1963, this audition-based youth organization lets talented young musicians play in a full orchestra that performs at Carnegie Hall, plus chamber music, jazz band, composition and conducting programs.
The New School's pre-college division trains children and teens in instrumental and vocal music with private lessons, theory, and orchestra and chamber ensembles. It serves hundreds of young musicians from around the city.
ISO offers a ladder of youth ensembles, from beginning orchestras and band to the advanced ISO Symphony, so kids can grow from first rehearsals to concerts at major halls. It now operates as part of Third Street Music School.
