Ridgewood Library gives Ridgewood families a free indoor stop with a kids' collection that runs from baby board books to middle-grade novels. Programs for young children and school-age kids have included Toddler Time, Baby & Me, Homework Help and Wacky Wednesday. Weekend homework help makes it useful for school-age kids too.
The children's area at Maspeth Library stocks board books, picture books and chapter books for Maspeth kids, with computers and table space for after-school reading and homework. Rego Park Library is the Rego Park branch of Queens Public Library, with a children's collection and regular early-literacy programs when the building is in service. Right now the building is closed (closed for construction of a new building, expected reopening Winter 2029-2030; Mobile Library outside branch Thursdays 10am-5pm), so families should use nearby branches or the mobile/pop-up services in the meantime.
At North Forest Park Library, the youth collection covers everything from lap-sized board books to graphic novels, and the space doubles as a quiet after-school spot for Forest Hills students.
