Ravenswood Library is a neighborhood branch where Ravenswood children can sit and read, check out books and media on a free card, and join regularly scheduled kids' programs. The weekly lineup has recently included Creative Art Studio and Game Room.
Little ones and school-age kids in Queensbridge can browse the picture-book and early-reader shelves at Queensbridge Library, borrow games and use the computers after school. Programs for young children and school-age kids have included robotics and coding workshops in the Tech Lab, LEGO Play Day and Code It. Its tech lab offers workshops from basic computer skills to robotics and programming.
Little ones can join lapsit and toddler story times that mix songs, rhymes and books, and older kids can borrow books, use computers and get help finding homework resources. The island's library moved into a brand-new building with about double the space of the old one, giving kids and teens much more room.

Astoria Library is the Astoria branch of Queens Public Library, with a children's collection and regular early-literacy programs when the building is in service. Right now the building is closed (closed for renovation, expected reopening Summer 2029 with a new dedicated children's room; Mobile Library outside branch Mondays 10am-5pm), so families should use nearby branches or the mobile/pop-up services in the meantime.
