A free youth tennis program for ages 6-17 held at the Central Park Tennis Center, where kids are grouped by age for one-hour sessions of games and drills. Stronger players can move on to weekly competitions and citywide tournaments.

No. CityParks Tennis: Leslie Feely Youth Tennis Program is outdoors, so plan for weather, sunscreen and water.
The city's largest public tennis facility, with 26 clay and 4 hard courts near West 93rd Street, runs junior clinics, after-school classes, Tiny Tots and summer camp. Kids in lessons do not need a Parks tennis permit.
A Taekwondo studio on the Upper West Side led by Master An, where children and beginners train in traditional forms and technique. Classes aim to build focus, confidence, fitness and discipline in a small community setting.
Children ages 6-12 can take kids karate and kids Brazilian jiu-jitsu classes, and those 8 and up can add a wrestling supplement. The school teaches students from age 3 through adults and also runs summer and school-vacation camps.
Kids and teens learn krav maga self-defense in classes kept separate from the adult program. There is also a Self-Defense Before College program aimed at teenage girls.
A kids' activity studio on the Upper West Side offering multi-sport, yoga and music classes along with open play sessions like art-and-play and bounce time. It also runs after-school programs, a preschool-prep class, holiday and summer camps, and kids' night out events.
Upper West Side soccer program where young children learn ball skills through age-appropriate fundamentals classes. Older or more experienced players can move into intermediate development groups, a girls' academy, and teams.
