Kids and teens learn krav maga self-defense in classes kept separate from the adult program. There is also a Self-Defense Before College program aimed at teenage girls.
Riverside Park has basketball courts at 71st, 76th, 102nd, 111th and 148th Streets and volleyball courts at 102nd, 105th and 148th. Kids can join free pickup games all along the Hudson.
Central Park's public tennis center has 26 clay courts and 4 hard courts, with a pro shop and locker rooms. Kids can take Tiny Tots classes, junior development groups, private lessons and summer camp during the outdoor season.
