No. Rising New York Road Runners Youth Programs is outdoors, so plan for weather, sunscreen and water.
Free walk-up kayaking from Pier 96 at West 56th Street, with all boats, paddles and life jackets provided. Families paddle together in a sheltered area of the river; paddlers under 16 share a kayak with an adult.
A Hell's Kitchen karate dojo teaching traditional Renshin-Kai karate, including kata competition training. It offers a school pickup program that brings kids to the dojo after school.
Champions teaches kids martial arts in age-grouped classes, starting with a Little Tigers program for the youngest students and continuing through kids, teen and adult classes. Students work on kicks, forms and self-defense while building focus, and the school also offers after-school care, summer camp and a competition team.
The West Side Y near Columbus Circle offers youth classes in basketball, gymnastics, karate, soccer, tennis, kids' fitness and yoga. Sessions run in seasonal blocks, with members getting early registration.
The official New York youth academy of Italian club Juventus, with competitive travel teams, a recreational pre-academy and after-school soccer. Kids can also join summer clinics, goalkeeping training and private lessons.
A Hell's Kitchen park by the Hudson with three lighted baseball fields, the only lit ballfields on Manhattan's west side, plus soccer space and basketball and handball courts. Youth leagues and neighborhood kids use it for games and practice.
