Central Park in Central Park North has a big Olympic-size outdoor pool. Kids can splash and swim for free during the summer season, and NYC Parks often runs free Learn to Swim sessions at outdoor pools. Bring a padlock and swimwear.
Asphalt Green's Yorkville campus hosts its AGUA Swim Academy, with song-and-game classes for babies and toddlers, preschool lessons for ages 3–5, and Foundations and Core levels for kids 5–16. A free parent-and-child Water Explorers program is also offered.
SwimJim runs year-round learn-to-swim lessons in a warm indoor pool, starting with parent-and-baby classes and progressing through levels to confident independent swimmers. Families enroll on a monthly basis in group or private lessons.
