A long-running Village ceramics studio that runs after-school wheel-throwing classes for tweens and teens, plus family clay workshops for younger kids with a parent. Students learn to center, throw and glaze, with tools, clay and firing covered.
A free Saturday visual arts program for New York City public high school students, held on Cooper Union's East Village campus. Teens take studio classes in drawing, painting, design and more, with portfolio courses for juniors and seniors heading to art school.
A long-established Chelsea ceramics studio offering pottery classes for adults and kids. Young students learn wheel and hand-building basics in a working studio with its own kilns.
FIT runs more than 130 precollege courses for middle and high school students, covering fashion design, illustration, photography, jewelry and other creative fields. Classes meet on the Chelsea campus on weekends and in summer.
