Neighborhood YMCA offering youth sports classes and leagues such as basketball, soccer and fitness, plus swim lessons and after-school programs. It is a busy Park Slope branch near Prospect Park.
Park Slope yoga studio with weekly kids classes that mix yoga poses with creative movement, split into preschool and early-elementary groups, plus a tween and teen class. A monthly Saturday family yoga session lets caregivers practice alongside their kids.
After-school and weekend tennis classes set up in Park Slope school gyms and yards, using kid-sized equipment to teach elementary schoolers.
A long-running aikido dojo (since 1981) that holds six children's and teens classes each week. Young students learn rolls, falls and non-competitive techniques for handling conflict, and the dojo also runs camps.
