Girls and gender-expansive youth take free after-school programs in science, technology, media and the arts, including sessions in the club's own planetarium and a hands-on Maker Shop. Middle and high schoolers register for year-round programming.

Yes. Lower Eastside Girls Club STEAM Programs is indoors, so it works on rainy or cold days.
Kids build math and reading skills through short, leveled worksheet assignments done a little each day, coming into the center a couple of times a week for instructor check-ins. Students move ahead as soon as they master each level, so advanced kids can work well beyond their grade.
High schoolers spend three or six summer weeks in Cooper Union's engineering school working on hands-on projects such as building a calculator from digital circuits, designing iOS apps, prototyping with Arduino and testing water quality. Classes meet Monday through Thursday.

Middle and high schoolers explore problem-solving and proof-based math far beyond the school curriculum in relaxed weekly Sunday sessions. Levels range from newcomers to a college-bridge track, with a separate math contest preparation course.
