Kids and teens stay active through fitness classes, an after-school program that mixes homework with sports, and day camps when school is out. Campers often head out across the city to parks, pools, museums and Governors Island.
A Long Island City jiu-jitsu school, open since 2017, that runs kids classes in addition to adult training. Children learn Brazilian jiu-jitsu in a third-floor academy off Vernon Boulevard.
