Seward Park, Essex Street & Canal Street, 10002, in the Lower East Side, Manhattan.
A small East River park of native plants managed by Solar One, with seasonal family stewardship activities like seed starting. Solar One's environmental education center nearby hosts thousands of school kids.
A sculptural park on Pier 55 floating over the Hudson, with winding paths, lawns, lookout points and performances. Kids enjoy climbing the hills and exploring the varied plantings.
A four-mile park along Manhattan's West Side with playgrounds, piers, a science-themed playground and tide deck at Pier 26, and the River Project's Wetlab at Pier 40 for up-close river wildlife.
