Programs for young children and school-age kids have included Mother Goose, Toddler Time and Family Playtime.
Corona Library is a neighborhood branch where Corona children can sit and read, check out books and media on a free card, and join regularly scheduled kids' programs. Recurring kids' programs lately have included Para Chiquitos Spanish Storytime and Culture Pass crafts.
Jackson Heights Library is a neighborhood branch where Jackson Heights children can sit and read, check out books and media on a free card, and join regularly scheduled kids' programs. The weekly lineup has recently included storytimes and crafts listed on the branch calendar. It is a large, busy branch that also opens Sunday afternoons.
Little ones and school-age kids in Elmhurst can browse the picture-book and early-reader shelves at Elmhurst Library, borrow games and use the computers after school. Recurring kids' programs lately have included Mother Goose Time infants, PreK & Kindergarten Storytime, Wacky Adventures STEAM for school-age and Tween Time.
Lefrak City Library is the Lefrak City branch of Queens Public Library, with a children's collection and regular early-literacy programs when the building is in service. Right now the building is closed (branch closed; Mobile Library on 57th Ave or 99th St Fridays 10am-5pm; new permanent location planned at 95-15 Horace Harding Expressway (fall 2026)), so families should use nearby branches or the mobile/pop-up services in the meantime.
At Flushing Library, the youth collection covers everything from lap-sized board books to graphic novels, and the space doubles as a quiet after-school spot for Flushing students. Programs for young children and school-age kids have included storytime & craft events and hands-on crafts. This is one of the busiest branches in the Queens system, with large collections in several languages, and it opens Sundays.
