The Bedford-Stuyvesant YMCA in Bedford-Stuyvesant runs YMCA swim lessons in its indoor pool, from parent-and-child water play for babies and toddlers to preschool classes for ages 3–5 and stroke-building levels for school-age kids and teens. Families can also use scheduled family swim times.
Swim school focused on babies, toddlers and young kids, with small classes grouped tightly by age from infant water-comfort sessions up through stroke development for 7-9 year olds. Semi-private, private and prenatal lessons are also offered.
St. John's Recreation Center in Crown Heights has an indoor pool inside a Parks recreation center. Kids can join family swim periods and seasonal Learn to Swim classes run by NYC Parks. Swimmers need a Parks recreation center membership, which is free for youth.
