HSA's summer day camp lets kids rotate through music, dance, theater and musical theater at the school founded in 1964 by singer Dorothy Maynor. It's a way to try several performing arts in one summer.

A bilingual multigenerational theater ensemble rooted in Puerto Rican and Latinx culture, with a performance space in the South Bronx. It stages original music-theater and hosts visiting artists, with education programs and family-friendly events.
A performing arts center at Hostos Community College that presents family programming centered on Latino, Puerto Rican, Caribbean and African diaspora artists and stories. Families can see music, dance and theater acts connected to the South Bronx community.
Harlem Stage opens its Gatehouse venue for a free Saturday of live children's music and performance by well-known kids' artists, paired with an outdoor book fair where families can pick up free books. During the school year the organization also runs student matinees with pre-show workshops and artist Q&As.
Harlem's legendary performance hall offers reservation-only guided tours that take visitors backstage and through the history of the artists who launched careers on its stage. Families can also catch performances such as the famous Amateur Night, and school groups can book curriculum-based tours.
A weekend family series at Symphony Space on the Upper West Side featuring kid-friendly concerts, storytelling, puppetry and theater acts. Shows are short and lively, pitched at young kids and their grown-ups.
The Madison Avenue studio of Spotlight Kids runs year-long musical theater classes like Yellow Brick Road and Orphan Annie, plus improv and musical theatre repertoire for older kids. Classes build toward a full performance at the end of the year.
