Cortelyou Library gives Ditmas Park families a free indoor stop with a kids' collection that runs from baby board books to middle-grade novels. The weekly lineup has recently included Choo Choo Train Time, Toddler Time, Story Play and Kids Create.

At Windsor Terrace Library, the youth collection covers everything from lap-sized board books to graphic novels, and the space doubles as a quiet after-school spot for Windsor Terrace students. Programs for young children and school-age kids have included Storytime. Many young families use this busy neighborhood branch.
Little ones and school-age kids in Kensington can browse the picture-book and early-reader shelves at Kensington Library, borrow games and use the computers after school. The weekly lineup has recently included Story Play, Kids Create, Kids Explore and grab-and-go crafts.
Flatbush Library is a neighborhood branch where Flatbush children can sit and read, check out books and media on a free card, and join regularly scheduled kids' programs. Programs for young children and school-age kids have included Story Play, Homework Help, Kids Game On and Music & Stories. Staff and materials serve a very diverse community, including Spanish and Haitian Creole speakers.
Clarendon Library is a neighborhood branch where Flatbush children can sit and read, check out books and media on a free card, and join regularly scheduled kids' programs. Recurring kids' programs lately have included Kids/Teen board games, All Ages Gaming and Teen DIY. Game-based drop-ins make it a good after-school stop for older kids.
Midwood Library is the Midwood branch of Brooklyn Public Library, with a children's collection and regular early-literacy programs when the building is in service. Right now the building is closed (closed for major renovation since May 2026; reopening anticipated 2028 with an expanded second-floor children's library and play area), so families should use nearby branches or the mobile/pop-up services in the meantime.
