Current calendar offerings for kids include Babies & Books, Toddler Time and Preschool Storytime. The rebuilt branch has its own dedicated kids' and teen areas.

The children's area at Adams Street Library stocks board books, picture books and chapter books for DUMBO kids, with computers and table space for after-school reading and homework. Opened in a converted factory building a short walk from Brooklyn Bridge Park, it is the newest branch BPL has built in decades.
Carroll Gardens Pop-Up Library gives Cobble Hill families a free indoor stop with a kids' collection that runs from baby board books to middle-grade novels. Programs for young children and school-age kids have included Toddler Time, Babies & Books and Storytime in the Garden. This is a small temporary pop-up with limited hours while the Clinton Street building is renovated.
Walt Whitman Library is the Fort Greene branch of Brooklyn Public Library, with a children's collection and regular early-literacy programs when the building is in service. Right now the building is closed (closed for renovations; staff run storytimes in Fort Greene Park and Bookmobile visits), so families should use nearby branches or the mobile/pop-up services in the meantime.
At Pacific Library, the youth collection covers everything from lap-sized board books to graphic novels, and the space doubles as a quiet after-school spot for Boerum Hill students.
