The children's area at Arverne Library stocks board books, picture books and chapter books for Arverne kids, with computers and table space for after-school reading and homework. The weekly lineup has recently included Arverne Storytime, Arverne Early Learners toddler time and crafts and board game clubs.
This stand-alone teen library gives Far Rockaway teens their own after-school hangout with gaming consoles, VR headsets, computers, a podcast/recording studio and a DJ booth. It also runs college-readiness workshops; a library card is needed to get in and activity stations can be reserved in short blocks.

A shaded plaza with benches outside is a nice spot to read on warm days.
