An Upper East Side performing arts program with more than 30 years of classes in theater, dance and film acting for preschoolers through high schoolers. Every class ends with a performance in a real theater setting, and film students help make their own movie.

Kids take theater, dance, music and creative movement classes that all feed into one movement-theater production. Students rehearse with working professional artists and can audition to perform in a December holiday show.
A historic wooden cottage in Central Park where handmade marionettes perform short, updated takes on classic fairy tales. Shows run about 40–45 minutes, just right for preschool and early-elementary attention spans.
The 92nd Street Y's School of the Arts runs musical theater classes for kids, from Broadway Kids for ages 4-6 to workshops where older kids stage junior versions of shows like Annie Kids. Students work on singing, acting and choreography and get performance opportunities, and there's a summer musical theater intensive.
The Madison Avenue studio of Spotlight Kids runs year-long musical theater classes like Yellow Brick Road and Orphan Annie, plus improv and musical theatre repertoire for older kids. Classes build toward a full performance at the end of the year.
Spotlight Kids' newer Upper West Side studio near Lincoln Center runs weekly musical theater classes grouped by age, from Fairytales for 3.5-5 year olds to a Grease-themed class for ages 8 and up. Each class performs its show in the spring.
An Upper West Side school training kids and teens in Broadway-style tap, singing and acting. Students build technique through the year and take part in a full original production, and toddlers can start in a Baby Broadway class for ages 2 to 3.
